A video clip that many of us didn’t let go unnoted, was “Two Hot Girls” from England’s glam/sleaze rockers Jettblack. After I watched that video, I decided to check out their debut album, “Get Your Hands Dirty” (Spinefarm, 2010), and was pleasantly surprised. We’re now two years further down the sleazy road and earlier this month (June 2012), the band has released their follow-up album, “Raining Rock”. June was indeed a rainy month, but an album such as this one was always able to wash away the misery. The Jettblack debut album was already a good one, but the new one is certainly better. That applies not only for the overall quality of the songs, but also for the variety on offer. Sleazy hard rock is very much the game here, but the foursome also proves that they can hit with more straightforward material like “Prison Of Love”, “Black Gold” or “Never Gonna Give It Up”. Dirtier and sleazier are tracks like the first single/video “Raining Rock” (in two versions, of which one features howler Udo Dirkschneider), “System”, “Sunshine” and “Temptation”. Let the sunshine come now, please ... ( CL)

I missed the first one, so I can't judge the difference, "prison of love" attracted me in purchasing this platter and so far I'm very pleased. Very energetic and a great feel for melody and tight hooks. Watch out for these guys, they could be the next big thing.

Better than great debut!
Metal Mark
The debut was better and more immediate, but I reserve the right to change my opinion because bands like this can eventually grow on you, especially on the 2nd disc after having so long to absorb the debut. This U.K. act is immersed in the fine tradition of 80s melodic metal like Dokken, Winger (on the harder side) and even Y&T to an extent, and I think this stuff would sound great with some beers, friends and a hot summer night cranking out at 11!
PS
"GYHD" was indeed a far more instant fix than the newie but I have spent quite some time in the company of sonsg like "Prison Of Love" and the titletrack and all I can say that it's a worthy follow-up. None of the songs have the same impact as 'Two Hot Girls" but overall it's a very consistent second offering and highly recommended to any hair metal fanatic!

I think "get your hands dirty" was more an instant blast...This one will take more time to fully reveal it's potential...After 7 spins i think , i could say that it's a very good album and a very recommended album to those who want to know how HAIR METAL should sounds in 2012...Try "prison of love" ! A fine record , even if the guitar solos are more discreet this time (too bad...it's a major letdown for me...I will retract half a star to my mark for this bad idea !:)) the whole CD is strong & powerful...But with Class...:) ****1/2
