The story of Jaded Heart is presumed common knowledge for regular readers of Rock Report. The replacement of Michael Bormann by Johan Fahlberg shocked many but was no reason for panic as the man has proven a worthy singer of this German outfit on several occasions. It did however shift the style of the band from melodic rock to melodic metal and it divided followers in two camps. The changing of the guards with Peter Ostros entering the band laid the metal-foundation even further.
So can we expect some more changes with ‘Common Destiny’, the 11th album already of these mainstays? No, the road travelled with ‘Perfect Insanity’ (Frontiers Records, 2009) continues here. Record companies have been switched but that’s about it. The formula remains the same. Haters will nag about the Bormann-era and lovers will eat this up, warts and all. For those who crave highlights: I discovered some absolute great melodies, backing vocals & choruses on for example first single ‘With You’, ‘Saints Denied’ and the amazing closing duo ‘Higher’ & ‘Fire And Flames’.
As said, Jaded Heart remains firmly on course with this one. Those in the knowing will know what to do. (KVK)

Good album. Nothing new, but they are leading the way.

Great cdciguo better than PI but it don´t reach the excellence of Sinister Mind.

as their previous releases...good melodic hard rock/metal

For me, Jaded Heart's latest was not a grower, but an instant smack of pure, powerful melodic metal. A great disc with not a duff track contained. I can't say that about their previous efforts, but 'Common Destiny' hit me immediately and I love it. Best effort from them in years!

A very good album...It might takes a little time to grow on you...But it will grows...Kinghanuk is bloody right , when he wrote , that they are back to something more Melodic...Agree...But with a big Edge...Suprisingly i think the songs "my destiny"/"run and hide" sounds like DYNAZTY (??) maybe it's the SCANDINAVIAN spirit vocally provided by both Fahlberg & Eric Marteensson also "buried alive" is a damn good song !!!

Fourth release from german band, "Common Destiny" is dedicated to all lovers of the band. I mean all those who don't think only about and are fond of Bormann JADED HEART's era, but those who think about and are fond of the entire discography. "Common Destiny" sounds loud, melodic, hard and heavy. This is a good achievement for this new line-up! How many people have bet on them, when they started? Well, let me recap' about those four albums: "Helluva Time", "Sinister Mind", "Perfect Insanity" were KILLER albums!!! And now add another killer one: "Common Destiny"! Enjoy it! :)

Probably the best album since Johan Falberg has fronted. They lost their identity on the last 2 albums by trying to be overly aggressive and losing their more melodic side but on Common Destiny you can hear catch hooks and chorus again. 85 out of 100.
