Luley? Well, if the name doesn’t sound familiar, let me help you out by revealing that the vocalist in question, Klaus Luley, has been active in bands like Tokyo (their three albums have just been rereleased) and Craaft, mainly remembered for their first two albums, “Craaft” and “Second Honeymoon” (just reissued by YesterRock). Luley didn’t disappear from the scene after the demise of Craaft, but kept busy as an experienced singer and songwriter, working for artists like Meat Loaf, Giorgio Moroder, Jennifer Rush and Donna Summer. Two years ago a meeting with producer Michael Voss was enough for Luley to decide to make a comeback to the melodic rock scene and Georg Siegl of AOR Heaven was immediately interested as well. Although Luley is a multi-instrumentalist, for the recording of the album he got help from the session musicians Matthias Rethmann on bass and Chris Elbers on drums. Like I said, “Today’s Tomorrow” is a quite good album with highlights like “Mountain Of Love”, “Livin In The Night”, “Higher” and “Take Me Today”. Recording another version of “Tokyo” (from Luley’s former band of the same name) was a bit superfluous though. ( CL)
