We all know what the abbreviation NWOBHM stands for, but did you also know there’s something like a NWOSS? NWOSS stands for New Wave Of Swedish Sleaze and bands that are part of this ‘movement’ are listening to monikers such as Babylon Bombs, Crashdiët, Hardcore Superstar and Vains Of Jenna. One of the first bands that emerged however was Crazy Lixx, which was founded in Malmö in 2002. The guys released their debut album, “Loud Minority”, independently in November 2007 and it received great acclaim, reaching the #2 spot in the Swedish HR charts. Touring all over Europe came next and it turned them into one hell of a solid unit.
Over 20 songs were written for the second album of which the best 12 were selected. New guy in the band is Andy Dawson (he replaces Vic Zino who joined Hardcore Superstar), but what an asset he is. He’s an excellent songwriting partner for vocalist Danny Rexon and certainly knows how to torture his guitar. As with the debut album, “New Religion” was recorded, mixed and produced by Chris Laney, who is rapidly building a solid reputation for himself. What I like about Crazy Lixx is that they mix their modern kind of sleazy rock with the best elements of 80s arena rock, thus creating an infectious rock style of their own. I used to listen to a lot of glam/sleaze bands in the 80s, but the last two decades I lost interest. Bands like Wig Wam and Crazy Lixx however make me return to this style, both with excellent new albums.
Right now, “New Religion” is the record that I play most frequently. Here and there I hear influences from bands like Poison and Def Leppard, but that doesn’t disturb me at all. Joy and happiness is written all over this album and that’s what we need after another day’s hard work. Now that the guys are signed by Frontiers Records, nothing can go wrong anymore. “New Religion” will mark the breakthrough for these guys and well-deserved that is! (CL)

Har metal lives on.........Crazy Lixx separate themselves from the pack by adding these little inventive guitar riffs into the more obvious song structures.Coming out of left field with some talented break downs and scales put these guys on the top of my car stereo play list. This CD is addicting much like summer weather and drinking beer.

Agree with Yngwie here.
My medecine is a great song, but the second half of the album lacks too much qualitysongs for a high score.

this is an amazing sleaze/hair metal album! Bombastic, anthemic with an 80's feeling full of shoaring vocals, crunchy in-your face guitars, memorable catchy choruses and a clear production. Without any doubt this album is a fine piece of hair metal stuff in the way it used to be played, loud and energetic!!

A good album ,even if i think they are not SLEAZE anymore ,it's sounds more like earlyBON JOVI or FIREHOUSE...
The production by C.LANEY is like the huge expensives ones back in the HAIR days but sometimes some lacks in the songwriting, are hidden behind those studio tricks !
That why ,i'm not so enthusiastic as my buddy here !
But even if ,this kind of release, leaves my a strange feeling of demagogy or at least an impression of ''too easy"...i don't want to bite the hand that feed us ,with GOOD OLD HAIR METAL ,so let's say that's an enjoyable and obviously well crafted album !****1/2

Honestly, don't think it's as good as their last awesome release 'Loud Minority.' That said, I've been following these rockin' Swedes for about 4 years ever since I got ahold of some kick ass demos of theirs. "New Religion' is a highly polished, arena-busting opus of Def Leppard-insipred hair rock. Once again, Chris Laney is on top of his game with his god-like production skills, I swear. This a an extemely enjoyable effort but almost too polished. No worries, though...it's nice to hear this kinda rock makin' a comeback.

21 Til' I Die says it all what a F**KING Song. Love this album but why oh why does the accursed name of Poison keep coming up. Poison wish they were 1% as good as this lot for me the reference point should be Danger Danger, not Poison.
