Cooper Inc. is a Dutch/German combo founded by the Dutch members of the band, singer John Kuijpers (Ayreon) and drummer Hans In ’t Zandt (Vengeance, Mad Max). Around the same time that these 2 gentlemen were thinking of working together, German guitarist Christian Tolle was looking for a singer to record his second solo effort and somehow things clicked between both parties. As a result thereof mister Tolle decided to join Cooper Inc. and not much later they entered the studio with producer Michael Voss (Casanova, Silver, Mad Max,…) who brought along bassist Matthias Rethmann. The outfit was now complete. Between the summer of 2008 and this year’s spring they recorded 12 tracks and the result is this here quite excellent “Pulling The Trigger”.
The AOR tinged opening cut “All Of You” is the perfect introduction to an album filled with quality melodic hard rock.
“Never Let You Go” is another catchy tune with excellent vocals of mister Cuipers and it has to be said that he does a great job throughout the entire platter. Other tracks worth mentioning are the beautiful “Rain” that includes a guitar solo of none other than Doug Aldrich (Bad Moon Rising, Whitesnake), the highly rockin’ “Déja Vu” and the title cut on which Vinny Burns (Dare, Ten) handles guitar duties.
Quite different sounding is the Beatles-esque “Weep”, while “Let Me Out” is the weakest track on offer. The quality of the rest of the material however is very high.
Add to that an excellent production job by Michael Voss and you can only conclude that what we have hear is a the kind of CD that most of you out there ought to get hold of! (

Some very good songs and a good prod. but a certain inconsistency in the quality of the songwriting could destabilize a little bit some listeners AOR / MELODIC HARD ROCK
