Behind the Unifaun moniker are hiding Nad Sylvan and Bonamici, who ‘met’ each other at a forum for Genesis fans at the end of 2003. From one thing came another and quickly they began to exchange samples of their own music. Founding out they had a lot in common, their next intention was to ‘make the songs Genesis had never recorded’. What had started as an idea gradually evolved into a full project, that couldn’t be stopped anymore when requests from die-hard Genesis fans for a full-length album were coming in.
The result of four years work is now spinning in my CD player and with its long and sometimes complex tracks, it’s surely something for the fans of early Genesis (1972-1980). Intensifying that vibe is the voice of Nad Sylvan, who bears a strong resemblance to a young Peter Gabriel. Fans of old Genesis must check this remarkable album out. (CL)
