The letters in P:O:B stand for Pedestrians Of Blue, which is a gifted progressive / melodic hard rock band from Haugesund in Norway. Up to now the band has recorded two (demo) EPs: “Circles Of Butterflies – The First Monologue” in 2002 and “The Second Monologue” in 2005. I got the second one and their infectious mix of progressive and melodic hard rock made me long for more.
Although there was also interest from several labels, the band members decided to record their debut album before signing a deal and this “Crossing Over” on their very own FishFarm Records is the (more than) promising result. As expected, all three tracks from the second demo are included as well as nine brand-new songs and all of them show once again how talented founding members Johannes Støle (v, k, or, p, pr) and Torfinn Sirnes (g, pr) are. Not only did they write most of the material, they also recorded and produced the whole thing and did a perfect job. Mixed by Daniel Flores (of Mind’s Eye) and mastered by Mika Jussila (Nightwish, Masterplan), this album about a young man’s struggle between family, love and religion is an absolute must for anyone in search of an epic album that mixes melodic hard rock with progressive rock in a stunning way. Based on what’s delivered here, it can’t take long before this band is getting signed. Visit the band’s site if you don’t want to wait for that moment. These guys deserve our full attention. (CL)

"Crossing Over" and "The Other Side" are my favourite songs on this album. An album which is WAY overlooked. These guys deserve some recognition. If you like a more accessible version of Enchant meets Fates Warning, you need to buy this. Excellent work!

Very good album - plenty elements of the great prog rock bands of the moment mixed with there own hooks and melodys. My fav track is the 12 + minute "Out of the Rain"
