This German band was founded at the beginning of 2001, following a year of rehearsals and line-up changes. The first gigs were quite successful and the next step was recording and producing a demo EP. Late summer 2001 they entered the BHS Studios in Breitenbach and recorded ?Starseed V.R.?. It was released in February 2002 and well-received by both the fans and the press. Many copies were sent to labels, but without any success. New gigs followed in 2002 and 2003, which established them as one of the leading metal bands of the region. Unfortunately rhtythm guitarist Matthias Anker decided to leave the band for personal reasons at the end of 2003. In February 2004 the guys of Serenity got in touch with Thomas Buchberger, Georg Neuhauser and Simon Holzknecht who were in search of musicians to join their metal project. After listening to their demo, it was bass player Stefan Wanker who recommended integrating them into Serenity. To realize this he spontaneously offered to leave the band. Guitarist Stefan Schipflinger, who didn?t agree with this, also left the band. From March 2004 on, the new line-up started to work and gradually the material changed more and more towards melodic metal, but still with strong symphonic influences. On August 2, 2004 they played as support for Ronnie James Dio and a string of other strong gigs naturally followed. In the meantime they had begun recording their new demo ?Engraved Within?, which is now spinning for the umpteenth time in my CD player. Seldom have I heard a demo that sounds so well. Produced by Buchberger, Hirzinger and Neuhauser and mixed/mastered at Dreamscape Studios in Munich, this 7-track demo clearly shows what great potential this band has. This material is so strong that it can only be a matter of time before this guys get signed. In the meantime, you can order this demo for the price of 10 EUR via the band?s website. (CL)
