Electric Boys – And Them Boys Done Swang
Electric Boys was formed as a duo in 1988 in Stockholm, Sweden by Conny Bloom (guitar and vocals) and Andy Christell (bass) and got a hit song right away with the track "All Lips N’ Hips" after which the members Franco Santunione (guitar) and Niclas Sigevall (drums) were recruited. The band dropped down like a bomb in contemporary pop-Sweden with its headstrong mixture of groove, Beatles-phsychedelia and heavy guitar riffs and in 1989 they released their critically acclaimed debut, “Funk-O-Metal Carpet Ride”. That debut album was later released internationally including five new songs produced by monster producer Bob Rock (Metallica, Mötley Crüe). Electric Boys toured tenaciously in Europe and in the US where they were climbing the Billboard list while “All Lips N’ Hips” was set on heavy rotation on MTV. In Sweden the band had a huge hit with the song “För Fet För Ett F**k” (To Fat To F**k)”, a song which was specially written for the now late comedian Micke Dubois. The single sold platinum and made it to nr. 1 on the prestigious Swedish tracklist. In 1992 the follow-up album “Groovus Maximus” was released. The album was recorded in the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London and the band continued touring mainly in the US, the UK and Sweden. In 1994 the album “Freewheelin’” was released and the members decided to dissolve the band soon after with a farewell concert in their hometown Stockholm.
After four years playing with Hanoi Rocks, Conny Bloom and Andy Christell decided to reunite Electric Boys in the beginning of 2009. They released a “Best Of” album in the spring and played at the famous Sweden Rock Festival on June 5. The band, which nowadays consists of the original line-up from the late 80s, performed at several festivals in Sweden, Finland and England during the summer and finished off with touring clubs in Sweden in September. In December Electirc Boys supported Alice Cooper. And on May 27 they will release a brand-new studio album, called “And Them Boys Done Swang”.

Warrant – Rockaholic
Warrant’s brand-new album, “Rockaholic”, has now been confirmed for the release on May 13 in Europe and May 17 in North America on Frontiers Records. At the helm of “Rockaholic” is mega producer Keith Olsen (Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake, Scorpions) and the album is mixed by Pat Regan (KISS, Deep Purple, Ted Nugent). The album finds the band returning to its trademark sound. Warrant original members Erik Turner, Jerry Dixon, Joey Allen and Steven Sweet welcomed long-time band friend and fellow touring mate, singer Robert Mason (Lynch Mob, Cry Of Love) into the fold. With 8 million records sold worldwide, two top ten Billboard albums, five top 40 Billboard hit singles and five #1 MTV videos, Warrant was one of the most popular and successful rock bands to hail out of the Los Angeles rock scene in the late 80s/early 90s. Formed in the mid-80s by original members Erik Turner and Jerry Dixon, Warrant’s biggest hits included “Cherry Pie” and “Heaven”.
Skansis – Leaving You
Skansis are back, that exciting hard rock band from Bern in Switzerland, and they are better than ever. The band plays slick hard rock with an aggressive edge. If you have a liking for bands like Gotthard, Van Halen, Europe and George Lynch then these five guys are just up your alley. They have opened for bands like Krokus, 3M (ex-Whitesnake), Vivian and Shakra in the past and it will not be long before they are headline material themselves.
Skansis are very much a new band and have only been together a few years but in that time they have created a stir in the competitive world of rock music. “Take Your Chance”, their debut album, featured 12 tracks of outstanding quality and garnered rave reviews across the globe. They do possess that air of originality that sets them apart from the rest and it really is a pleasure to the ears, the tracks seem to flow effortlessly from the start, the new songs are that much more exciting than the debut. Tracks like “Next To Mine”, “I Want You” and “Back From War” really do have you begging for more. If you like bands such as Shakra and Gotthard, then you will love this band!
“Leaving You” will be released by Escape Music on June 3.
