‘And on my right side, Mister Phil Kennemore, a man whom I've been working together with for 35 years’. Indeed, for 35 years Dave Meniketti and his ever loyal bass player have kept Y&T alive and kicking, treating us time after time to excellent melodic hard rock driven by the beautiful axe work of the aforementoned American guitarist. During the '80's they were highly popular in their native country but the past few years the guys have been mostly active on the European live front. In a live sitaution the band truly delivers the goods and is able the touch its fans with a set list made up of nothing but classics.
Consequently the Biebob was almost sold out when the wellknown "From The Moon" intro came pouring out of the speakers, followed immediately by "Open Fire". Over the past years I have witnessed quite a few Y&T gigs and since the band rarely changes it set list, the danger of boredom is always present.
But Dave & C° possess the magical power to bring each song with plenty of energy and emotion that keeps their performance entertaining from start to finish. And also tonight they were given a warm recemption by the crowd and in return they put on a solid show. Tracks such as "Mean Streak", "Black Tiger" or "Midnight In Tokyo" had the whole house shaking and when they continued with one of the best hard rock ballads ever written, "I believe In You", they brought the roof down. The way mister Meniketti was able to move each of the punters with his axe work was masterly and rightly deserved the great response from the audience.
For the finale the volume was turned up some more and we got treated to excellent versions of "Squeeze Me" (sung by Phil "Fuck You Phil" Kennemore) and "Forever". The only encore was delivered in the shape of "Rescue Me" and it was all over. Another unforgettable night and hopefully we won't have to wait too long for that new album.

Although, as Franky stated, it is always great to see them live (in the heydays we hardly saw them in Europe) - I passed on this one. Another greatest hits set was reason enough to not reschedule my agenda. But I bet I'll be sorry someday... The new album is highly anticipated !!!!!!!!!
