Your opinion on AOR Heaven Classix reissues, in particular Fortune PLS
Over the Weekend, I ordered a few CDs from aorheaven.com, one of them being Fortune (1985) (AOR Classix Reissue).
But now I'm getting a little bit worried, as I read on glorydazemusic.com that there might be certain issues with the quality of the sound of this particular reissue (even though the Gypsy Rock reissue is said to be even worst)...
I also ordered Gregg Rolie - Gringo, Storm - Eye of The Storm and Planet 3 - Music from the Planet, all AOR Heaven Classix products........
From your experience, do you think that these editions are high-quality products with pristine sound quality?

Sorry, FB, not heard any of them.
But I would be amazed if Georg Siegl released anything that is not the best quality available.

Even that Signal album is a fantastic album, would not say it was the best AOR record ever

FOR ME IT IS, together with Van Stephenson's 'Righteous Anger' and the V.U.'s 'Phoenix Rising!!! , closely followed by stuff from The Storm, Agent, Van Zant, Drive She Said, Boulevard, Bystander etc. etc. If I compare that to what's released these days (genre Dynazty, Heat etc.) I could cry !!!! Long live the 'oldies' !!! And my ears are still intact, Elival ! I hear the difference in CLASS, something you and some others seem not to hear ! Dream on !

Regarding the Aor Classix re-issue of the "fortune" s/t album...
I got this CD the week it came out, as I wanted something to replace my vinyl copy which, although in pristine condition, would not have the depth of a CD taken from the master tapes.
I was not pleased.
Perhaps it's my old ears, but I could not tell the difference between my 26-year-old vinyl record and the new, supposedly remastered CD. I expected a great deal more dynamic range from the CD, and to my ears, it just wasn't there. If anything, I prefer the sound of the vinyl, and I'm inot/i one of these guys who thinks everthing sounds better on vinyl!
That said, I've bought many of these AOR Classix reissues, and they have all been superb, with this one exception. I heard rumors that the masters had been lost years ago, so is it possible that this is indeed a remastering, but of a vinyl copy, or of the CD that one of the band members put out some time back?
Please understand, this is not a poor CD in terms of sound quality, by any means! It simply did not meet my expectations.

The Fortune album was released on CD by the band itself in 2005 on their label Gypsy Rock Records.
Before that it also existed on bootleg CD (label Unforgotten Jewels). The Surgin album (When Midnight Comes) is included on the same disc. I bought it before the GRR release.
That bootleg is without a doubt a vinyl rip that sounds quite good.
