The legendary neo-progressive rock band Shadowland returns with its first live DVD, “Edge Of Night”. Shot at the first edition of the Prog Rock festival in Katowice, Poland, the DVD features an exquisite feast of superb musicianship brought to you by Clive Nolan (Pendragon, Caamora, Arena, Neo), Mike Varty (Landmarq, Credo, Jannison Edge and Mick Pointer’s project “Script For A Jester’s Tour”), Karl Groom (a well-known music producer on the progrock scene and a member of Threshold and Stranger On A Train), Mark Westwood (Caamora, Neo) and Nick Harradence (NW10). Almost two hours of footage, presenting songs from Shadowland’s classic albums “Ring Of Roses”, “Through The Looking Glass” and “Mad As A Hatter”, performed by the elite of the scene! The DVD also features an interview with Nolan and Groom, a documantary (“Shadowland Live In Holland”), a photo gallery, desktop images and more. • This is one hell of another great DVD from Metal Mind Productions, containing no less than two Shadowlands shows, one shot in Holland (see extras) and one at the first edition of the Prog Rock festival in Katowice, Poland! • Great line-up, featuring the founder/members Clive Nolan (v, pi) and Karl Groom (g, bv), assisted by Nick Harradence (d), Mike Varty (k, bv) and newcomer Mark Westwood (b, ag), who replaces Ian Salmon. • As a fan of Clive Nolan, it’s great to see him in the position of lead vocalist. In other bands he’s more the keyboarder who does some of the backing vocals … • A fine selection of songs, taken from Shadowland’s three studio albums so far – “Ring Of Roses” (1992), “Through The Looking Glass” (1994) and “Mad As A Hatter” (1996) – as well as a brand-new cut, the title track “Edge Of Night”. • Excellent sound and vision quality (a standard from MMP) • Some interesting bonuses, such as the interview with the founder members Nolan and Groom • The attractive artwork of the inlay and the booklet (filled with nice live pics). • A lot of value for your hard-earned money! |

• The less good quality (sound and vision) of the band’s performance in De Boerderij in Zoetermeer, Holland. • No other minor points |
